What a Difference a Few Years Make

October 7, 2009Matt Suermann

We all remember how CSP used to be before she went to Congress.  She was proud to have been removed from a Bush Town Hall meeting and also called on Jeb Bradley to give back campaign donations from Tom Delay and also called on Jeb Bradley to vote for Delay’s removal as House Majority Leader.

Here’s CSP in 2006:

Now in 2009, enter Charlie Rangel who’s ethically challenged to say the least.  Today, House Republicans offered a resolution calling for Charlie Rangel to be removed as Chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee.  As expected the, motion failed today with Democrats voting to table the motion, essentially killing chances of his removal as Chair.  Not surprisingly, both of NH Representatives voted with their Democrat leadership to keep Rangel as Chair despite recent investigations that allege he avoided paying taxes, the exact thing that Ways and Means is charged with doing.

What is truly amazing, is the double standard that CSP has adopted when it comes to ethically challenged Dems.  Apparently it is OK for her to have accepted, and not returned $14,000 in campaign donations from Charlie Rangel.

It looks like $14,000 not only helps you buy a few yard signs and TV ads but also to help keep an ethically challenged Member of Congress in power.

The hypocrisy that CSP is showing on this issue is amazing.  If it was enough for her to ask Jeb Bradley to return the contributions from Delay and call for his ouster.  It should have been enough for CSP to return Charlie Rangel’s donations and voted to oust him from his chairmanship.  What a difference a few years in Washington makes and how different it is when you’re the one being called on vote someone out or return a campaign donation.

Once again, its just CSP being a hypocrite.  That’s been her M.O. for the past few months anyway, why should she change now?
