Two Polls Have Obama Below 50 Percent

Maybe it’s the “stupdily” comment but more likely it’s his inability to put a coherent health plan together and the oppostion within his own party, but at week’s end, not one but two prominent pollsters have President Barack Obama slipping below 50 percent for the first time.

For quite some time, Rasmussen has had Obama’s strongly disapprove number ahead of the strongly approve.  That’s now at 30-38 for a negative eight, but for the first time, Rasmussen’s overall approval for Obama has slipped to 49-51.

It’s even worse with Zogy who has Obama’s approval at 48 percent, and his job performance even slightly worse than that, 47-53 for a six point negativity rating.  Zogby has only 22 percent strongly approving of Obama’s job performance, 25 percent slightly approving while 10 percent say he’s doing a fair job and 40 percent a poor job.  (Zogby counts fair as a negative).

Four questions spring to mind.

Is Obama in free fall?

If so, how low can he go?

Will Obama take other Democrats down with him?

Are John Lynch’s numbers cratering as well?
