Hi Jennifer,
I agree! The Republican party is the party of the people.
However, the people don't seem to realize that right now.

Unfortunately the Republican party was made to look bad by some who were more intested in themselves than the Republican Party or any party as far as that goes.

There just happen to be a Republican President at the helm when it all took place.

Certainly wasn't President Bush's fault for trusting his fellow Americans to do the right thing but getting hoodwinked by a few greedy selfish people with no loyalty to any party or country.

N.O.- yes, we need to take the message to where the people are and that means employing all the electronic media available. Too often Republicans think it's only young people that we are missing, but the truth is the majority of Americans are plugged in, online and connected through electronic means.

And gth, you are also right - we need to bring our message of prosperity and opportunity for all, through smaller government, less governmental interference, individual empowerment - to everyone.

Prosperity, success and long term financial stability for families, retirees, small business owners comes when we allow the individual to invest in their own success AND reap the rewards.

This administration's redistribution of wealth approach can not work because it always leaves someone WITHOUT the rewards of their own efforts and it create dependence where it should be encouraging independence.

What the Republicans are failing to do is reach out and touch the maority of Americans who are now considered as,"Lower Middle Class."

Since the gap between the rich and middle class has widened into a vast channel of churned waters, the number of the have not voters has dwafted the do have votes.

Repubicans have failed to reach out and touch the "have nots" (for lack of a better desciption)
and Deocrats have realised that weak spot and poked at it.

IMO. The GOP needs to reach out and touch the greater number now of the "Lower Middle Class" and "Lower Income Voters" by letting them know that they have as much of a chance or even more to become better off under the GOP leadership then what what the Democrats are doing which is,
telling the very large number of "Lower Middle Class" and "Lower Income Voters" that they will bring everything down to their level.

Obamas war cry was the cry of "Change." What he really ment was, "I know it looks and feels hopeless for most of you to prosper. So, What "we" the Democrats are proposing is that instead of most of you working to become prosperous, we will move the targets closer and give everyone fewer bullets.

Yes we need to articulate our core values and principles but we also need to get the word out better than the competition does. Conventional means of communication have given way to new 21st century tools. Fewer and fewer people read a newspaper while more people are relying on their telephone and the internet for news and information.

Our message means nothing if we can not reach our voters.
