Ray Burton Raises 65k in One Night

Pindell has the scoop on how Executive Councilor Ray Burton’s Meredith fundraiser went last night:

Executive Councilor Ray Burton (R-Bath) raised more money last night in his bid for re-election than First District Republican Congressional front-runner Frank Guinta (R-Manchester) raised in the last three months of last year.

Burton raised $65,000 last night with more checks expected to arrive, said Mark Sanborn, who helped organize the event along with former Congressman Bill Zeliff. The event was held at the Church Landing in Meredith and about 200 people showed up, Sanborn said.

I’ve been saying for years now, Ray Burton should run for Congress. His Executive Coucil district covers about a third of the second c.d., so he’d make a great candidate. Move over, Charlie; move over Jen…here comes Ray!
