NHGOP Repudiates Racist Candidate
July 6, 2010Yesterday, Grant Bosse pointed out that Ashland “Republican” candidate for the NH House who had submitted a letter to the editor espousing his group’s racist views. In response to this letter, the NHGOP took swift action to ensure that this candidate, who is the state chair of the group “Third Position” and is running as a Republican seemingly only to have an easy way onto the ballot. Here is what NHGOP Chair Gov. John H. Sununu had to say and the actions that the NHGOP is taking to ensure that he does not have any support from the NHGOP or County Committee.
STATE GOP REJECTS “RACIST” CANDIDATE. The state Republican Party has rejected as a “despicable racist” an Ashland man who is running for the State Legislature as a Republican on a pro-white platform.
Ryan J. Murdough, a registered Republican, has received notice on at least one local political Web log for a letter to the editor he wrote to the Concord Monitor, which was published on Sunday.

State Republican Party Chairman John H. Sununu “found the letter to be disgusting and has immediately issued an order barring this imposter from using any party resource to promote his candidacy,” said party spokesman Ryan Williams.
“Mr. Murdough is a despicable racist,” said Williams. “His racist views are abhorrent and he is not welcome in the New Hampshire Republican Party.”
The state party does not endorse candidates in primary elections, but does provide candidates access to voter lists, candidate training and to the state party staff to answer questions, Williams said.
“He is barred from any of those forms of assistance,” said Williams. “We are exploring further sanctions against him.
Murdough, whose residency and voter registration as a Republican were confirmed by the Ashland town clerk’s office today, says he is the state chairman of American Third Position, which he says, “is a political party that stands for the interests of white Americans” that was formed earlier this year. He identifies himself as the party’s New Hampshire state chairman.

Williams said that the party’s records show Murdough was an undeclared voter in 2008.
“He has obviously changed his voter registration to misrepresent himself and get his name on the ballot,” Williams said. “We consider Murdough a fraud and an imposter.”
He said the state GOP has contacted the Grafton County Republican Committee and activists “to inform them of Mr. Murdough’s disgusting views and urge them to defeat him in the Sept. 14 primary.”
This type of display has no place in the NH political debate and the fact that this candidate has attempted to infiltrate the Republican Primary ballot for a chance at being a Republican nominee in November. I hope that we heed Gov. Sununu’s request and not give any support to this candidate and expose him for what he is. The fact that he was willing to pretend to be a Republican for political expediency is disgraceful.

Good for them. I’m trusting the local GOP to make sure this guy doesn’t steal a Republican nomination, but if he somehow floods the district with out of state money from his racist organization and gets nominated, I’ll go campaign for one of the Democrats to make sure this racist jerk never gets a seat at the State House.
