February 5, 2010Well, this should be setting off some major alarm bells in the NHDP High Command. It looks like the Obama “charm” is spreading to another state.
FREEFALL: OBAMA’S APPROVAL RATINGS PLUNGE IN NH
Unpopular President Won’t Be Able To Save Hodes And Shea-Porter’s Stumbling Campaigns In 2010
CONCORD – A new poll released yesterday by the University of New Hampshire (WMUR, 2/4) shows that President Obama’s Granite State popularity has plunged faster than any president in his first year in office. According to the survey, Obama’s overall approval rating has dipped 18 points and his approval rating with independent voters has dropped a whopping 26 points since February, 2009.
The President’s plummeting popularity threatens to cripple Paul Hodes and Carol Shea Porter’s stumbling campaigns and sink Democrat candidates across the board in New Hampshire’s 2010 elections.
“President Obama’s reckless tax-and-spend agenda and his mismanagement of our economic challenges have enraged New Hampshire’s fiscally conservative electorate. The President’s complete lack of fiscal discipline has made him a political liability that threatens to weigh down the entire New Hampshire Democrat Party in 2010” said NHGOP Communications Director Ryan Williams. “We hope President Obama visits New Hampshire frequently before November to remind voters that Paul Hodes and Carol Shea-Porter have blindly supported his wild spending and failed economic policies.”
At a recent town hall meeting in Manchester, Representative Shea-Porter bragged about voting with President Obama over 90% of the time and with Speaker Nancy Pelosi over 93% of the time.
“I think I have about a 90% rating with the President and maybe 93%….with the House,’ said Shea-Porter.
