Idea for the day: Put Donahue behind paywall
October 31, 2009Jennifer Donahue likes to write down her thoughts. Yesterday, as BlueHampshire noticed, she wrote on HuffPo (and, no, I am not linking it):
News today of House ethics investigators looking into dozens of members and staffers is a huge news bomb that will effect everything that happens between now and the 2010 election. This goes to the heart of the trust between Americans and their elected officials, and how it plays out will be of paramount importance.
First, since it “will effect everything that happens between now and the 2010″ Donahue is saying that Rich Ashooh, Charlie Bass, and Sean Mahoney are tracking this news very closely to see whether they should run or not
Second, Donahue believes New Hampshire voters going to the polls in the first, second districts and Senate race will:
a. know who Charlie Rangel is or any other Dem named in the investigation
b. Will vote on CSP, Hodes, Kuster on the basis of Rangel’s/Murtha’s behavior and not on, well, the economy, health care, bailouts, debt, Iraq, Afghanistan, or even the upcoming (2010) debates over financial regulation or immigration.
I have an idea. How about the Union Leader hire Ms. Donahue and put her columns behind a paywall so that none of us have to see this stuff ever again?
