Following Grant Bosse’s announcement this morning that he is running for NH-00 Manchester Mayor and Candidate for Congress officially endorsed Bosse in his run for Congress.

FRANK GUINTA ENDORSES GRANT BOSSE FOR CONGRESS IN 00th CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

Manchester, NH – Grant Bosse, independent journalist and former Congressional Candidate for New Hampshire’s actually existing 2nd Congressional District, today announced his candidacy for Congress in the now infamous—yet non-existing—00th District in New Hampshire. The 00th District received a whopping amount of money from the Carol Shea-Porter backed stimulus plan. That money reportedly created nearly 3000 jobs in that district. 1st District Congressional Candidate Frank Guinta released the following statement on his new New Hampshire colleague in Congressional Candidacy:

“I completely endorse Grant Bosse in his candidacy for Congress in the 00th District of New Hampshire. Grant Bosse is the one who discovered this new Congressional District, along with two other phantom districts. That makes him more on top of the Stimulus funds than the two current Representatives we have who voted for this trillion dollar debacle. With all those new jobs and millions of dollars being funneled into the district, I believe it deserves representation. I know many people will tell me that, ‘Frank, but it’s not a real place, it doesn’t exist.’ However, I would argue that if Carol Shea-Porter and her colleagues voted to divvy this trillion dollars out this way, they must be actually sending it somewhere. The district may be phantom, but the dollars the taxpayers funded this program with are not. So Carol Shea-Porter should either join me in endorsing Grant Bosse to represent this district, or tell us where the money went and where those jobs actually are. Or, at least admit it’s an absolute disaster that she supported.”

UPDATE 1: Former New Hampshire Attorney General, and candidate for US Senate, Kelly Ayotte has also issued a statement endorsing Bosse in his run for NH-00

“The massive spending in Washington that Paul Hodes continues to support with the 787 billion dollar ’stimulus’ and now the trillion dollar government takeover of health care clearly needs to be reined in by someone who understands the importance of fiscal prudence. There is currently an absurd lack of transparency and accountability for Granite Staters’ hard earned tax dollars,” said Brooks Kochvar, campaign manager for former Attorney General Kelly Ayotte.

“If Paul Hodes and the professional politicians in Washington would read the legislation before they vote for it, both the federal budget and New Hampshire’s families’ budgets would be better off.”

UPDATE 2: Former Congressman Charlie Bass issued the following statement concerning Bosse’s run for the NH-00 Congressional seat.

CHARLIE BASS JOINS GRANT BOSSE IN CRITICIZING GOVERNMENT’S STIMULUS FUNDS REPORTING

Peterborough, NH- Former New Hampshire Congressman Charlie Bass released the following statement regarding conservative activist Grant Bosse’s remarks at the Legislative Office Building in Concord today. Bosse, a former journalist and candidate for New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District, announced his “candidacy” for Congress in the fictional 00th District. The fictional district was touted by Recovery.gov, which is, “the U.S. government’s official website providing easy access to data related to Recovery Act spending and allows for the reporting of potential fraud, waste, and abuse.”

“Grant’s lighthearted actions today point out a far more serious issue than a make-believe Congressional district. The Administration, which promised transparency and stringent oversight of the stimulus efforts, which are funded by our tax dollars, has issued hundreds of millions of dollars that cannot be accounted for, and has attributed the creation of jobs to these funds. This is extremely troubling and begs the question ‘Is the government getting too big?’ I believe the answer is ‘yes’ – and this is just one more example of where the federal government is not only too big, but too inefficient and unaccountable. I urge Congress to investigate where and how these funds were spent.”
