Frank Guinta Comments on Today’s Unemployment Rates

Manchester, NH – The United State Department of Labor today released the latest jobless numbers reporting a soaring 10.2% unemployment rate for the month of October. Unemployment across the nation and in New Hampshire has continued to climb every month since the enactment of the Carol Shea-Porter backed stimulus plan, despite her support for it as a job creating measure. 1st District Congressional Candidate Frank Guinta released the following statement on the matter:

“People in New Hampshire and around the country are struggling and more and more families are feeling the effects of this staggering economy. Something must be done to stop the hemorrhaging of jobs, and yet Carol Shea-Porter and Congress are doing nothing about it. You cannot fix a problem until you acknowledge one exists and the continual support of the abject failure called a stimulus plan demonstrates the Congresswoman is not willing to do that. Instead of finding a way to help our unemployed neighbors, Carol Shea-Porter stood on a stage with Nancy Pelosi to present their latest trillion dollar government takeover of health care bill and asked for more tax money, asked to indebt our country even further and asked to increase the cost of doing business in America. This latest Health Care bill is a job killer and a nightmare for small businesses and indeed the economy we should be trying to fix.

“We need to help this economy and you do that by reducing the overbearing tax burden on the small businesses that are the backbone of this economy. We need health care reform that is responsible, effective and that does not further damage the economy for working families. Carol Shea-porter is not granting members of the public the opportunity to speak about these concerns so, in her absence, I am. I hope everyone joins me on Saturday at my town hall to discuss health care, the economy, the effects on each other and anything else on the minds of our citizens.”. –Frank Guinta, 1st District congressional Candidate

Bob Bestani:

The official unemployment rate this month hit 10.2%. That figure is well above the 6.8% when President Obama was elected with his message of “change”. When President Obama was selling the Stimulus Bill, we were told that the Administration would not allow unemployment to exceed 8%.

The unemployment statistics are now as bad, if not worse, than the disastrous economic stewardship of Jimmy Carter. Unfortunately, Carol Shea Porter and Congressional Democrats are now promising us more of the same..

Washington has literally placed America on the road to bankruptcy.

Rather than emulating the significant and broad based tax cuts which ended the economic stagnation of the late 1970’s, the Democratic Congress is poised to oversee the largest tax increase in history. Rather than emulating the deregulation which led to the creation of millions of jobs during the 1980’s, the Democratic Congress is poised to strangle economic growth and kill jobs through cap and tax energy legislation. Rather than acting to prevent inflation which destroys the accumulated savings of all Americans, the Democratic Congress is leading a captured Federal Reserve into the most reckless monetary policy in United States history. Our government is literally printing money to buy our own debt and effectively nationalizing the financing of the real estate market.

This must end! Whatever impulses the Obama Administration might have had to govern from the center have been completely overwhelmed by a Democratic Congress that is out of control. Carol Shea Porter has not been a bystander in this assault against American prosperity. She has been a loyal soldier who has stated she will support Nancy Pelosi wherever she leads.

As a candidate for New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District, I am running to restore responsibility to this nation’s economic policies. My mission and solemn promise is to work every day to restore the limited government conservative principles and policies of Ronald Reagan and once again bring the American economy back from the brink of disaster.

The heading of this site says:” We need a conversation. Let’s get the party started” Guinta and Bestani need to engage the citizens of New Hampshire by having a candid public conversation. We need a candidate who can soundly defeat Carol Shea-Porter. The only way to energize NH voters is not by “Empty Chair” debates, but by a public discussion of two good Republicans. Please convice both candidates that this would be the best course of action for a victorious Republican effort.
