Gatsas for Mayor?

May 17, 2009Ellie Insider

With Ted Gatsas considering a run for Mayor of Manchester many are asking if he plans to give up his senate seat should he win.

If Gatsas gives up his seat that leads us to another special election and the buzz around Concord is that Jeb Bradley already has his choice to fill that seat. Could it be long time supporter and friend David Boutin? One thing Team Jeb knows how to do is win low turn out elections.

My source (Ted himself) says that Ted will hold his senate seat even if he becomes mayor. He simply would not run again next year. Second term of the session is not all that busy, so Ted could do it. If he wants it, I’d guess Terry Pfaff, former Rep and House Speaker’s chief of staff, would be the best replacement. He barely lost to Ted in the primary when Ted first ran. Never never never to David Boutin.
