BREAKING: Guinta Denied Access To Shea-Porter’s Manchester Town Hall

August 29, 2009Matt Suermann

I guess being Mayor of Manchester doesn’t get you very far these days.  Around 12:30 today, Manchester Mayor, and Candidate for Congress, Frank Guinta posted the following update on his Facebook page:

Mayor Frank Guinta: was denied access to Carol Shea Porter’s town hall meeting at the Federal Building this morning.

Details are still a little shaky whether it was a space concern that led to him to be denied access or whether it was a calculated move made by Rep. Shea-Porter’s staff to not allow him into the Federal Building.  Either, way I doubt this is the news that Rep. Shea-Porter will be looking for coming out of her town halls.  In my opinion, it continues the storyline that she is unwilling to meet with her constituents in an open forum that will allow for diverse view points to be heard.

You may recall, in her first run for Congress she was able to attend numerous town halls held by then Congressman Jeb Bradley.  Now, it appears, she is unable to give the same courtesy to one of her challengers in 2010.

Stay tuned for more details…
