Ayotte To Appear at Wolfeboro GOP Aug 11

August 3, 2009Fergus Cullen

Kelly Ayotte is expected to attend the next summer social held by the Winnipesaukee GOP on Tuesday, August 11, at 6:00 p.m. at the Wolfe Trap Restaurant on Bay Street.  To the best of my knowledge, this will be Ayotte’s first appearance before a group of grassroots Republican activists as a candidate.

If you are interested in hearing what a real conservative has to say I like what Sean Mahoney said on Close Up this weekend.

We ought to take our time to annoit Kelly Ayotte as the GOP nominee. We still don’t know where she stands on most issues, and we don’t know who else might run.

Good point Clarence. She may turnout to be a great candidate in line with conservatives on most issues but right now the only real thing we know about her is she is the pick of the Washington establishment.

I don’t really care who the NRSC backs, and I don’t hold it against a candidate when someone helps them raise money. Ayotte needs to prove herself as a candidate, both in the primary to the state as a whole. She’s got a lot going for her, including an impressive stint as AG, but we have no idea how strong a candidate she’ll be or her priorities Washington.
I’m also not in a hurry. She has 13 months to make the case before the primary, and other candidates have plenty of time to get into the race.
We get riled up when Washington looks like its trying to pick our candidates for us, but we never let them. I’m looking forward to an exciting race, with or without a primary.
