WITH UNEMPLOYMENT RISING HODES WANTS TO CUT MEDICARE AND RAISE TAXES
(Manchester, NH)- Today the Department of Labor announced unemployment and jobs numbers that showed the national unemployment rate had climbed to 10.2%, its highest level in 26 years. Additionally it was reported that the country lost 190,000 jobs during the month of October.
“New Hampshire families are struggling, and Washington’s response is not working, said Kelly Ayotte. “We need common sense solutions that realize the strength of America comes from our small businesses and our work ethic, not from more government spending. We need to create an economic environment that allows small businesses to grow and create new jobs.”
After voting for the so called stimulus bill, Paul Hodes said, “Today the House took decisive action to pass this important piece of legislation to create thousands of jobs for New Hampshire… it will invest in getting our economy moving and will create and protect millions of jobs for Americans”
“Since Paul Hodes voted for the stimulus bill, the unemployment rate has gone from 8.1% to 10.2% and we have lost over 3.5 million jobs,” said Brooks Kochvar, Ayotte’s campaign manager. At a time when our country can afford it least, Paul Hodes has announced that he is going to vote to cut $500 billion in Medicare while increasing taxes on small businesses to pay for his $1 trillion on a government takeover of healthcare.”
