Fast away the old year passes. Let’s ring in the new with a look at the best and worst of 2009 in Manchester politics.
Best Manchester Politician—Ward 10 Alderman Elect Phil Greazzo. A year ago, in the race for eight West Side State Rep seats, he finished 15th. Two years ago, he lost to [...]

I hardly ever agree with Time Magazine’s choice for person of the year. Remember when they put a piece of plastic on the cover and told people to look at the reflection because you are person of the year. One of this year’s finalists apparently was the Chinese worker.
Call me old-fashioned but I’ve always believed a person [...]

Here’s one for the top of year end lists.
The most inexplicable recurring event in 2009 is for the Union Leader to continue to provide prime space each week for Kathy Sullivan, aka Bride of Dracula, to write op-ed pieces solely designed to spin the Democratic Party line. This consummate hack never has anything interesting or [...]

Remember how Democrat Chair Buckley just couldn’t wait to demand the resignation of Republican State Senator Bill Denley when he was nabbed for DWI earlier this year. Democrats apparently receive immunity or are actually rewarded if they are caught driving drunk.
Three examples.

A SNEAK PEAK INTO NEXT WEEK’S MANCHESTER EXPRESS, PAGE 3
The most fun I ever had in ten years of doing shows on MCTV/MCAM was when Rep. George LaPorte dropped by as Santa Claus bearing a bagful of gifts for local politicians.
Why should such fun be limited to television?
We can’t provide the visuals [...]

Fast away the old decade passes.
Is there anything more fun than redistricting?
Certainly not for those addicted to numbers crunching.
Remember how after the House and Senate did a fine job redistricting in 2001, Governor Jeanne Shaheen (harking to the poor advise from partisan Peter Burling) vetoed both plans, thus setting up an even worse plan from [...]

What Tiger Woods And Meredith Baxter Birney Mean To the Gay Marriage Debate
Sad to say, even before gay marriage has a chance to take effect in New Hampshire January 1, five Republican House members (Al Baldasaro, Jordan Ulery, Edmond Gionet, Mike Kappler, and Moe Villeneuve) have filed a bill (HB 1590) to repeal the legislation.
Just what we [...]

This will appear in Monday’s Manchester Express.
A handy dandy guide to paying your property taxes on time.
Exactly one week before Santa comes down the chimney, Manchester homeowners will face a more intrusive force in their midst. Property tax bills are due this Friday, Dec. 18; and you better not pout; you better not cry; I’m [...]

A Rasmussen poll earlier this week, combined with a dip in generic support for Republicans, should give GOP leaders pause when it comes to assessing next year’s chances.
The message is clear. Republicans need to get back to their roots, at least the post-Goldwater roots, and not take fiscal conservatives and social libertarians for granted.
Rasmussen posed [...]
